The International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS) invites you to be part of its 2026 Hybrid Annual Conference, a dynamic platform for innovation, dialogue, and action in global crisis and disaster management. This conference aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration by bringing together leading researchers, emergency management practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the world to discuss and share their insights, experiences and expertise thereby catalysing innovative solutions, best practices, and future directions in disaster risk management and resilience building.
Conference Themes:
The Conference will feature an array of sessions including plenary sessions, technical sessions, workshops, keynote addresses, paper presentations, expert deliberations and poster presentations. Participants and attendees will acquire appropriate competencies through workshops and technical sessions, while networking opportunities will help in building meaningful partnerships. At the same time, the Annual Conference will be held concurrently at the venue of the 2026 Guangzhou International Emergency Safety Expo. During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition and explore the equipment and technologies showcased by more than 1,200 exhibitors. This year's conference theme zeroes in on three key pillars:
- Latest technology developments in emergency management – engagement with latest developments in AI, drone technology and unmanned systems, and technology in general with applications specific to emergency management.
- Role of international organizations and collaboration in emergency management and disaster risk reduction - What role can AI, predictive analytics, and digital tools play in emergencies? We welcome use cases and critical discussions on ethics, equity, and governance in tech adoption.
- Collaborative Resource Management - How can we better share what we have—people, money, logistics—to do more, together? From pooled supply chains to strategic funding models, let’s explore what works.
